Which of these principles is common to both Lamarck’s and Darwin’s theories of evolution?
Species developed new features in order to survive in a changing environment.
All organisms are related to and descended from a common ancestor.
Environment selects who will survive by allowing the best adapted organisms to survive.

Answer :

Both recognised that species developed new features in order to survive in a changing environment.
Lamarck thought characteristics acquired during a species lifetime could be passed onto offspring, while Darwin thought this was a very gradual change over many generations, but both knew that features which enabled a species to cope with changed conditions in the environment increased in presence overtime.
