Not only was the Silk Road an exchange of goods, it was an exchange of culture and ideas. Some of the goods that were exchanged were silk, tea, spices, carpets, tapestries, grapes, rice, camels, amber, and ceramic. There were many items exchanged, these are just a few. The items were exchanged between China and the mediterranean.
