Cuba's two wars for independence or revolutions influenced American business interests by opening them up in the first war in 1898 and then ending them through the second revolution which ended in 1959. Between those periods there was strong Cuban-American business relationships, however after the Cuban Revolution in the 50s the relations between the US and Cuba broke down drastically and there as been an American economic embargo in place since this time.
