(179.3)/(61.5) *10  time both sides by 10 to get rid of the decimal
1793/615
615*2= 1230  615 goes two times into 1793 before exceeding 
1793-1230=563   remainder which is less than 615 hence will give a decimal when divided by 615
563/615= 0.9
2+0.9 = 2.9 is the answer 
for a longer decimal you can easily use a calculator
