C. Thought philosopher-kings should run the government
Plato promoted this idea in one of his most famous work: Republic (approx. 380 BC), a publication that has had a great influence in Western political philosophy.
The Republic's main focus is a dialogue developed in an imaginary ideal city, in which the rulers and guardians aren't allowed to have private families or property, women can do the same tasks as men, and the rulers are philosophers since the philosophers are wise men, the ones who know what is good and just and act accordingly.
The dialogue is carried out by Socrates who discusses with various Athenians and foreigners about the meaning of justice, the order, and character of the just city-state, the just man, the theory of forms, the immortality of the soul, and the role of the philosopher and of poetry in society, among others.
Option A is incorrect because it was Aristotle, and not Plato, who tutored Alexander the Great. And Option B is also incorrect because there is no real evidence that shows how Plato died, some suggest he died in his bed, others suggest that he died at a wedding feast. It is said he died around 348-347 BC.
