The ancient faith of Iranian origin is Zoroastrianism. It arose in the ancient Persia when Zarathustra (who lived about 1000 years BCE) merged Iranian gods into two separate forces: destructive mentality (Angra Mainyu) and progressive mentality (Spenta Mainyu) functioning under one god - Illuminating Wisdom (Ahura Mazda). However Ahura Mazda was a good god with no evil traits. Zoroastrianism had a great influence in creating Islam (as well as Christianity, Judaism and Gnosticism).
