This is a schematic view of the Bessemer converter, invented in 1855:

Can anyone tell me how it was used (like what goes in and what comes out?) and what it makes? Or what it converts stuff into? I'd appreciate it a lot ^-^ Thanks! :D

Answer :

The process is carried out in a large ovoid steel container lined with clay or dolomite called the bessemer converter. The capacity of a converter was from 8 to 30 tons of molten metals with a usual charge being around 15 tons. This makes molten steel after having rotated again and again.
