With that goal, they also aimed to foster the economic growth within the region. And to be able to coordinate their political goals, the formation of the Arab League also had to resolve disputes between and amongst its members.
The Arab Spring showed that nationalism was contagious. What started as a protest in Tunisia quickly spread throughout North Africa and much of the Middle East. Citizens expressed their desire for a better country. They asked for better living conditions and a more supportive government by protesting and, in some cases, overthrowing their government.
