You can use the proportion [tex] \frac{is}{of} [/tex] or [tex] \frac{part}{whole} [/tex] = [tex] \frac{percent}{100} [/tex], where you fill in what you know, crossmulitply, and solve for x. You can also write it as an equation, where of=mulitply and is=equal to, and the percent is expressed as a decimal. Your two different equations would be .34x120=x and [tex] \frac{x}{120} [/tex]=[tex] \frac{34}{100} [/tex]
