The protest that Rosa Parks ignited in 1957 was the Montgomery Bus Boycott. This started because of her refusal to give up her seat in the front of the bus to a white passenger.
She did the Montgomery bus boycott. She refused to get off the bus when a white passenger needed her seat. So, several African Americans refused to ride the buses which resulted in the buses losing a lot of money and passengers. I hope that helps. :)
