Romeo needs Tybalt dead as requital for him executing Mercutio. Juliet's parents thought that she was crying because Tybalt was dead. However, she was really crying because of Romeo and the fact that he was banished from Verona and that she couldn't see him anymore. However, her parents did not know that and mistook her tears for those about Tybalt, when in fact it was all because of Romeo and his actions that led him to being banished.
