3 elements of Renaissance New Learning or Humanism were:
- The secularization of history, the writing of history from a non-religious viewpoint.
- An increase in education, of both the arts and sciences, since they believed that education stimulated the creative powers of the individual.
- A greater sharing of knowledge. Traditionally writings were in Latin, the language used by the church, but the New Learning used the vernacular, national languages that were more readily understood by normal people.
