In the 1800's, England used its own natural resource of coal but it is now cheaper to use other sources of power. England also has resources like oil, natural gas, slate, iron ore,and clay to just name a few. Now they are developing a turbine (very similar to the wind turbines used on land for energy) that will harness the energy of the ebb and flow of the tide in some of their inlets.

England imports fuel as the only natural resource. Until the Middle East  problem, England got most of its fuel from there. Now, England imports most of its fuel for refineries from the North Sea area and Norway.
