While most of the social unrest and uprisings that fought agains the status social quo of the period took place in the 60s, some started earlier in the 50s. In ther realm of Civil Rights, people were upset that African Americans had been asked to fight for a country that did not treat them fairly back home. The youth were also mad after being asked to fight in Vietnam.
