In the Eastern Orthodox Church icons are very important,as icons are meant to symbolize and represent different people who are very valued in the Bible. Icons have specific hair styles, body positions, facial expressions and clothing which value different things. Icons have been part of the Eastern Orthodox Church since the beginning of Christianity and it is said that icons are helpful to keep in mind what the person who is incarnating Jesus looks like.
