The answer is C. The Anaconda plan was the North's plan to end the civil war. General William T. Sherman led his Union army on a March to Sea along the eastern coast of the Confederacy, destroying towns and capturing ports, thereby preventing oustide aid from reaching the beleaguered Confederate forces. The other Union general, Ulysses S. Grant, captured the Mississippi River, a critical supply line for the confederates, essentially splitting the Confederacy into two halves, the west and the east. The two Union armies then slowly converged onto the eastern ( and more important half) and squeezed the life out of the Confederate army from both sides, just like an anaconda.
