When world war 2 Ended, Germany was divided into four occupational Zones and Berlin into occupational sectors. The Future of Germany was to be decided in post-war talks and the tensions of Germany grew further when the United States, France, and Britain joined hands together in the year 1948 and united their occupational zones together. These countries shifted their occupational preferences towards West Germany and in response to this tactic, The USSR blocked West Berlin in order to force the West to abandon the city. But despite that, The United States and Britain continued to provide food supplied and daily needs to West Berlin by using Airlifting. and in the year 1949, The Soviets ended this blockage.

But this issue did not end in 1949 itself, This issue again rose up drastically in the year 1961 as there were many people leaving East Germany and were moving to West Germany as they found better job opportunities and better life there. As much as 2000 people from East Germany were moving to West Germany every day and many of them were professionals and Laborers and this was affecting the economy of East Germany and to stop this, Soviet Leader Nikita Khrushchev recommended building a Concrete wall throughout border of East Germany and West Germany which was known as 'Berlin Wall'. This wall was 15 feet high and had Barbed wire at the top and was guarded by watchtowers. In the year 1990, The tensions reduced between both sides and the Wall was dismantled and East Germany and West Germany were reunited that brought end to long going cold war between these two.
