Consider this statement: Mrs. Gibbs was wrong in refusing to remove the
bird feeders from her backyard. Decide your position and consider why
you feel this way.
1. Prepare a brief statement that expresses your position. Include reasons
that
explain why you feel as you do.
2. Participate in a collaborative class activity in which everyone takes
turns
sharing the persuasive statements they wrote.
3. When it's time for you to speak, deliver your statement. Try to
persuade
those listening to agree with your position.
4. When everyone has had a chance to speak, vote on whether
