The gland that produces sperm is the testes. Testes are part of the male reproductive system and are responsible for producing sperm cells through a process called spermatogenesis.
During spermatogenesis, specialized cells within the testes divide and differentiate to eventually form mature sperm cells. These sperm cells are then stored in the epididymis, a coiled tube located next to each testis, until they are released during ejaculation.
In contrast, the prostate gland and seminal vesicles are involved in producing seminal fluid, which mixes with sperm to form semen. While these glands play important roles in the male reproductive system by providing nourishment and protection for sperm, they do not produce sperm themselves.
