You have started a patient on lisinopril. One of the rare potential adverse effects of ACE inhibitors is neutropenia. When teaching your patient to be watchful for this particular adverse effect, you would instruct the patient to be alert to:
a. A persistent cough with no other symptoms of URI.
b. Sudden onset of swelling of the mouth, tongue, and/or lips.
c. A pruritic, painful rash on the trunk or extremities.
d. A minor infection that gets bad very quickly.
