DEAS OF RACE
CONDUCT A RESEARCH (AN INVESTIGATION) ON THE CONCEPT OF RACE OR RACISM.
The content of the Research should focus on the following
°
God's creation of man
Explanation of Racism as a concept (quote different sources on how they define or explain
racism as a concept)
Racism in Nazi Germany (how it manifested itself)
Racism in South Africa (how it manifested itself)
Mangaliso Robert Sobukwe's concept of one race - the human race
NSTRUCTIONS AND GUIDANCE TO LEARNERS:

Interview THREE pastors on the concept, Race, based on Biblical creation
Consult different sources that defines or explain the term or concept Racism/ Also
ask from knowledgeable people on what they understand Racism to be.
Investigate how Racism was applied in Nazi Germany (Consult your Textbook)
Investigate how Racism was applied in South Africa (Interview 3 relevant people)
Investigate Sobukwe's concept of 'one human race'.
RESEARCH GUIDELINES: THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA SHOULD BE USED FOR PURPOSES OF MARK
ALLOCATION
1. Organisation & presentation of learner portfolio (evidence of performance)
2. Draw a Research Plan
3. Identify & Access relevant sources of information (textual & human resources). For Human
resource, identify at least 3 relevant people.
4. Develop/ Formulate ONE question per items I-V above (to assist in in your investigation).
The same questions should be directed to the 3 identified interviewees.
5. Present the findings of the research in a form of an essay of 2-3 pages. Learners should use
their own language. This is where plagiarism should be avoided at all costs. The essay should
be well structured (with an Introduction, Body and Conclusion)
6. Self-Reflection (a learner should write a paragraph or two on: challenges encountered while
undertaking the investigation; lessons learnt or the impact of the research to him/her).
7. Acknowledgement of sources of information.
