Question tags are short questions at the end of statements.
We form them with an auxiliary verb and a subject pronoun.
It's expensive, isn't it?
We use affirmative question tags after negative sentences to ask
for information. He isn't at home, is he?
We use negative question tags after affirmative sentences to
confirm information. It's beautiful, isn't it?
We use rising intonation when we aren't sure of the answer.
She's at work, isn't she? (expect an answer)
We use falling intonation when we are sure of the answer.
Jane's in England, isn't she? (not expect an answer).
