South Africans always cast their votes with the hope of better livelihoods. What can
you do if you find that people in your community live in shacks without any facilities?
They are nearly a kilometre from a tap and get water from a nearby pond. They have
no tolets and no electricity; people connect electricity illegally. There was a serious
shack fire recently, which was caused by a paraffin stove that had been overturned by
a toddler. The rate of unemployment is very high. There are no nearby schools, clinics
or
shops in the area:
