Topic-Responsible Citizenship
The term "responsible citizenship" is used to describe people who obey
rules and help the well-being of their community through their actions, on a
daily basis. It is a person who is aware of their rights and responsibilities as
contained in the Bill of Rights.

Answer :

Responsible Citizenship and Addressing Discrimination

**2.1. Definition of Discrimination and Example:**

- **Discrimination** refers to the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.

 - **Example:** Refusing to hire someone based on their gender or race.

**2.2. Examination of Headlines:**

a) **FAMILY DIES IN SHACK FIRE**

b) **TEACHING IS A WOMEN'S JOB. ONLY FEMALES NEED TO APPLY.**

**2.2.1. Discrimination vs. Human Rights Violation:**

- **a) FAMILY DIES IN SHACK FIRE**

 - This headline portrays a tragic event but does not directly indicate discrimination or a human rights violation.

- **b) TEACHING IS A WOMEN'S JOB. ONLY FEMALES NEED TO APPLY.**

 - This headline is a form of discrimination as it restricts job opportunities based on gender, violating the principle of equal employment opportunities.

**2.2.2. Reasons for Each Answer:**

- **a) FAMILY DIES IN SHACK FIRE**

 - While the incident is tragic, it does not explicitly suggest discrimination or human rights violations.

- **b) TEACHING IS A WOMEN'S JOB. ONLY FEMALES NEED TO APPLY.**

 - This headline discriminates against male applicants, promoting gender bias and violating the right to equal opportunities in employment.

**2.3. Personal Position on the Headlines:**

- My stance is that all individuals should have equal rights and opportunities regardless of gender, race, or any other characteristic. Discrimination and biases have no place in a fair and just society.

**2.4. Recommendation to Address the Issue:**

- Considering the headline **'TEACHING IS A WOMEN'S JOB. ONLY FEMALES NEED TO APPLY,'** the recommendation would be to implement and enforce policies that promote gender equality in the workplace. This could include:

 - Creating awareness campaigns on equal employment opportunities.

 - Implementing diversity and inclusion training programs.

 - Enforcing strict penalties for organizations that engage in discriminatory hiring practices
