Each of the characters in the story had some type of struggle or challenge that tested his/her individual integrity. Think about how the events were affecting the character and his/her lives outside the story. How did the character struggle with thoughts and actions? What could he/she had done differently to have a more positive outcome? Write a reflective and encouraging advice letter to one of the characters in the short story "The Lie" by Kurt Vonnegut. What questions do you have for the character? What could he/she had done differently? Do you relate to the character? Can you understand why the actions were taken? What advice do you have for the character about how to do better in the future?
Be sure to include the following in your letter:
The challenge your character is facing because of his/her actions.
How can YOU connect or empathize with what the character is experiencing in the story?
A suggestion or piece of advice that can support your main character through what he/she is experiencing.
A quote that can encourage, empower, and inspire the character to live with integrity.
