Many issues has taken place in Nicol's story that has prevented him from being successful here in the United States. One of the many issues that would need to be address quickly is the need for him to access healthcare. Nicol's illness during the winter months on the street is a problem. The very idea that he is homeless may be a critical thing to fix first. Nicol needs a permanent address and a place to call home fast. The language barrier is something that I address as well in my post. The police needed to secure a interpreter for Nicol as soon as they realize he wasn't speaking good English. We have failed Nicol. As human service workers, we have the ability to fix things for him!
What else, as our roles as human service workers, could we do to help him further?
