In an academic institution anchored in its mission to develop lifelong learners who will make significant contributions in society, the subject Social studies is taught through various methodologies, with teachers utilizing different techniques to help learners learn and understand the content and the real-world applications. The concern is on learners whose academic grades are below a general standard. It is then our desire to validate the influence of project-based learning in teaching the social studies on the academic performance of Grade 7 learners, for this could lead to enhancing the education practice in teaching other subjects and in other academic institutions. Social studies is a subject that examines the human aspect in relation to culture, socialization, heritage, beliefs and values, events and issues, contributing to human behavior in society. With this, Project-Based Learning could help learners examine human society and adapt or revolutionize their behavior in dealing with societal transformations, challenges, and opportunities. Project-based learning is an educational methodology that integrates a significant content area within a real-world context in order to help learners learn actively and connect the academic and non-academic world.
