. Your reaction engineering Design Team has studied the liquid phase reaction A + B −−−→ C in
an isothermal batch reactor, undertaking a number of experiments with different initial concen-trations
of A and B; the reaction order is unknown. The two datasets (see extra download in Moodle) give
the concentration of A as a function of time for three different initial concentrations of A
and the same concentration of B. The data are from a UV-Vis spectrometer that is
recording several points per second.
Analyse the two data sets to determine the rate law with respect to species A and B.
Include annotated code that describes your analysis, ensuring that your working is shown and the rate
law and rate coefficient are clearly noted. Use an appropriate numerical analysis package for
the analysis (Octave, Python, Matlab, Mathematica, …; spreadsheets are not recommended).
