There were several serious problems faced by the settlers in
Virginia. One of the most serious problems faced by the settlers were the huge
shortage of food. Many people died due to malnutrition. Due to severe shortage
of food people lacked the minimum nutrition required by people to keep
themselves fit. They fell ill very quickly and succumbed quickly to their
illness. The weather was also very harsh for the settlers and they felt it
tough to get themselves accustomed to the weather.
