The right to vote or suffrage was the goal set a women’s
convention in Seneca Falls in 1848 and was finally achieved in the progressive
era. This was a long term demand of the female activists. Many men opposed this due to the wrong
thinking that women would neglect their daily household chores if they are
allowed voting rights. In 1920 the women got their right to vote as the
nineteenth amendment was ratified. This was a sweet success after a long and
hard struggle.
