The encounter occurred as a result of European explorers
crossing the Atlantic Ocean. From the end of the 15th century the
Europeans started spreading around the world boosted by new discoveries. These discoveries
led to good relationship with neighbours. Firstly the Europeans tried to expand
their reach along the coasts of the Atlantic Ocean and this resulted in
confrontation between those that had already established a footing. The other
barbarian tribes also resisted the Europeans as they were unable to take to the
new European discoveries and culture.
