Mosaics are constructed from small pieces of stone called tesserae.
These stones are used to create decorative art forms for interior decoration
purpose. Mosaics are also used for making floors. Mosaic art is not new at all.
It started in the 3rd millennium BC in Mesopotamia. Mosaic also
played a big role in Islamic art. Many mosques used the Mosaic for decorative
purposes. Mosaic art was not limited to
any one religion or culture. This art was used equally by the Christian
community for decorative purpose.
