First distribute the 2.25 to the 4x and -4 you'll get 9x and -9. Then you'll have 9x-9=-2+10x+12. Then move the 10x to the other side you'll get -1x-9=-2+12 now move the -9 to te other then becomes positive so no you have -1x=19 then divide the one so x is by itself and end up with x=-19. That's what I did.
