A.Farmers
The Populists were an agrarian-based legislative action directed at changing conditions for the country’s farmers and agrarian workers. The Populist movement was headed by the Farmer’s Alliance and the Grange who also attempted to end the unfavorable outcomes of the crop-lien system on farmers during the time of American Civil War.
The Populist movement attempted to improve conditions of the farmers. The Populist Party operated to expand the money supply and obtain lower interest rates for farmers.
