Han Wudi weakened the treasuries at the local level and strengthened the central govenment's control over currencies and land. He also built a strong military b/c China was threatened by the barbarians in the Northen desert. Confucianism also became China's dominant political ideology during his regime. So, he controled the nation's finance, military, and ideology. Before he came in power, his father already began to do all these things. He simply continued his work.
