Spatial inequality or the uneven distribution of resources in a given space or territory is prevalent in urban areas because of the differences in income and wealth in differing parts of urban centers. Areas with more affluent residents tend to have cleaner air, safer neighborhoods, more greenery, larger living spaces, better schools and the list goes on. This is in comparison to poorer areas that are not as well served and deal with major inequalities.
