The Maya are perhaps best know for their achievements in Astronomy and their calendar, but there is a number of other fields in which they excelled.
The Maya devised their own script, the only in Pre-columbian America. Connected to this was their own style in art and architecture - specially their buildings were very impressive, and many have survived to this day, along with the numerous reliefs and sculptures.
