After Pennsylvania experienced its oil boom in the year
1859, there were three other states that discovered vast oil reserves. Two of
those states were Texas and California. Texas oil reserves helped in a major
way during this period for the economic growth of the United States. By the end
of the year 1940 Texas was considered one of the biggest oil producing state of
the United States. Some other states that joined in this oil boom were
Oklahoma, Illinois and Kansas.
