Valuable resources (silver gold platinum) prices increase when there is some turmoil in the economy (financial crisis, war). Coin (made of such materials) values follow similar trends. Silver American Eagle will peak again, when previously specified things happen.
When investors are uncertain about the future, they sell their shares in companies, and want to locate them in something stable (like resources, propriety, certain art).
The more severe crisis the higher value of the silver eagle.
